Guarantor of study programme Hydrology and Hydrogeology

Hydrology and Hydrogeology
(bachelor study programme)

The program provides students with the opportunity to acquire education and practical skills in the field of surface and groundwater research, protection and management.

The program is unique in the Czech Republic in that it combines surface and groundwater and is interdisciplinary in nature. Students learn about the laws of the hydrological cycle and the impact of climate change on the water component of the Earth's environment, the mechanism of water movement in nature, the influence of landscape components and their changes on the circulation and composition of water, and the occurrence of organisms living in water.

The course combines basic theoretical knowledge with practical skills in field research and the use of information technology. Students participate in field and laboratory work and research projects.

Graduates can continue their studies at the postgraduate level in hydrology and hydrogeology, physical geography and geoecology or related fields. They are also prepared for professional work in research and practice.
